As of Monday, 2 February 2026, we understand that PM Law Group, along with several connected firms, has closed unexpectedly. Following this, on the 4th February, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) officially stepped in to shut down PM Law, taking control of all the firm’s files and bank accounts.
Gordons LLP has been appointed by the SRA to manage the closure of PM Law and secure its client files. While they are handling the transition, they cannot act as your solicitor or progress your personal injury claim. To move your case forward, you must appoint a new legal team. Capital Lawyers will coordinate directly with Gordons LLP to retrieve your paperwork, ensuring a seamless transfer so you don’t have to worry about the logistics.
This has left many of the PM Law Group’s clients without a solicitor. You don’t have to wait for the SRA to be in touch with you. Get in touch with us today. Capital Lawyers are personal injury claim specialists and can ensure you still meet your deadlines and get the compensation you deserve.
Our team of experienced lawyers can pick up your claim from whatever stage you may have gotten to with the PM law. Our team, who are based in Peterborough, specialise in personal injury claims, whether that be a medical negligence claim or an accident at work claim, we can help.

Common PM Law Claim Questions
We understand that this is a very stressful time for those who were working with the PM Law Group, with the uncertainty surrounding the situation. Here are some common questions you might have answered:
What Will Happen To My File? Do I Need A New Solicitor?
Since PM Law and its affiliates have announced that they have closed with immediate affect, you will need to find a new lawyer to progress your matter. This is because they will not be completing any ongoing work.
What Happens To My Money?
Any money in the firm’s bank accounts at the time of intervention from the SRA is now held in their statutory trust fund. Where it will be held until the SRA find out who it belongs to. Due to the volume and the fact that the firms accounts not being in good order this may take the SRA some time.
If a solicitor was holding you money and the SRA are unable to locate it, you may be able to make an application to the SRA’s compensation fund.

Do I need to wait for Gordons LLP to send my file before I contact you?
No. Although the SRA have appointed Gordons LLP to handle the tens of thousands of files left by the PM Law Group you don’t need to wait for them to reach out to you.
If you have emails, letters or medical reports from PM Law, we can use those to begin to pick up your claim, saving you the wait. And we can submit a formal file request from Gordons on your behalf.
What happens if my claim's legal deadline is approaching?
If your deadline is approaching, your case will be considered urgent by all involved. You should not wait for the SRA to contact you, as a delay in transferring your case could lead to claim being timed out.
As mentioned Gordons LLP are handling the transition and therefore they are deciding on the all the cases current statuses. If you are aware that your deadline is fast approaching and have heard nothing you can contact them yourself.

What happens to my compensation money?
If you claim was already settled and you are waiting for you compensation money, it is highly likely that it is being held by the SRA in the Statutory Trust. This is because the firm’s bank accounts have been frozen by the SRA.
The SRA will be working through the firms finances to see who is owed what and paying accordingly.
