Case – Claimant injured due to uneven pavement
As the claimant, who was a child, was walking along a pavement, he caught his arm along the sharp edge of a ‘metal strap’ that had been placed on a lamp post.
Capital Lawyers argued that the local authority had failed in its duty to ensure public pavements were kept safe.
In light of the injuries sustained by the child, it was necessary to obtain evidence from an expert witness, in this case, a paediatric plastic surgeon.
Outcome – £7,700 settlement was negotiated by Capital Lawyers
Based on the evidence and our argument, a £7,700 settlement was approved by a Judge sitting in the County Court at Peterborough.
